About Velvet Soul...

Our influences include Led Zeppelin; Pink Floyd; Bob Dylan; Burt Bacharach; David Sanborn; Johnny Cash; Eric Clapton; Don Henley; The Beatles, Steve Winwood and OTHERS!

Paul's vocal talent sounds like one shot of Don Henley mixed with one shot of Eric Clapton and a splash of Bob Seger on the rocks. When the throat gives out, it's a BAD double shot mix of Joe Cocker and Rod Stewart straight up; John Mellencamp makes a good chaser; NOT GOOD!

Paul W Collins - Lead/Rhythm Guitar, Harmonica and Vocals

Music is my strongest spiritual connection. I enjoy writing music that touches on the different emotions we experience in this life (good, bad, ups, downs, smiles and tears, etc.).

I'm very much in love with my wife Tracy. To me, she's the most beautiful woman I could ever be with. She's the inspiration behind the song "Deep Down Inside".

I'm the proud Father of 3 Sons: James, Joshua and Justin. I don't know why God allowed me to be the fortunate one chosen to be their Dad; but I'm so thankful, humbled and glad He did.

Scott Ebert - Drums and Vocals

Scott has a love for all aspects and styles of music.  He cut his rock-n-roll teeth for years as a bassist in several rock bands and spent time as a guitarist in a R&B/Neo-Soul band prior to Velvet Soul. Having a passion for rhythm, he is proud to be part of the Velvet Soul team as their percussionist.  

Scott has a personality that helps warm the crowd.  The audience really likes it when he shares his vocal talent...he's an excellent singer! He is blessed to be married to his beautiful wife, Paulette.  Together they have 3 wonderful children:  Rebekah, Benjamin, and Jonah.

Chuck Rigney - Bass and Saxophone

Listening to Chuck lay down a groove, you'd think he's been playing bass all his life! A natural player with a soulful, mellow sound that melts like butter as you sway to your favorite tunes.

Chuck is also a professional magician and balloon artist. He can create any animal you want with balloons. This summer we performed for a private family reunion, children were present. Chuck was the star for the evening. The parents and children fell in love with Chuck as he entertained both with his balloon art and music performance.

Craig R. Rothe - Keyboard, Guitar and Vocals

Craig is the newest member of the band, and is the master on the keyboards of Velvet Soul. He is also an excellent guitar player and vocalist with superb people skills. He has written and performed Christian songs from Guatemala to Texas and currently volunteers his time to entertain the homeless. 

Craig resides in Northern Kentucky with his wonderful wife Carol and is blessed to be the father of two amazing daughters Courtney and Callie who live in Texas with their husbands.  He is active in his church and in the community.
